Most people that left Byrnesville because of the effects of the Centralia mine fire were born and raised in the village
and had spent at least 50 years of their lives there.
Leaving behind a house they worked and cared for all these years, a home where their children were born and
where their ancestors lived and died was not easy.
It was especially hard to see a bulldozer destroy the building that contained all those memories.
